Aiya Van Kooten everyone

When Aiya Van Kooten stood face-to-face with a burglar in her bedroom, her left eye twitched, then she went into “predator mode”.
“I screamed at him… jumped off my chair, leaped over my bed and sprinted after him down the stairs,” she said.
http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/crime/8626910/Predator-mode-scares-off-burglars

This is the best story of my life

“Although she was the only one home, Van Kooten said she had no regard for her safety - instead, she said she was just overwhelmed with “rage“….. ummmmm Hero!!!

Haha, badass Muslim woman. Love it!!!

This lady is so awesome. She lives with her grandma and was studying and had a towel on her head and no shoes but she chased them out of her garden, kicked one up the arse as he climbed a fence, they dropped a camera and laptop, she flagged down a passing driver to help her continue the pursuit, and it turned out he was ex-military, and they finally caught one of them in a park and pinned him as the police arrived. Now she’s going to visit the burglar in prison for the next few months to help with his rehabilitation.
So in summary:
This lady doesn’t just defend her home and loved ones, she will hunt you down, team up with other skilled individuals, get you put away, and then teach you the consequences of your actions until you’re a valuable member of society once more.
Seriously she’s a frigging superhero.

ACTUAL SUPERHERO AIYA VAN KOOTEN

I went to Disney World yesterday for the first time since I was eight. Immediately I went to buy a Peter Pan cap. Pan has been my favorite Disney movie since I was two. After I found my cap and went on a few rides I went around looking for Peter. Once I found him I waited in line to get my picture, which probably looked odd seeing as I am sixteen years old and 5”8, standing in line next to a bunch of six year olds. Once I got up there, he saw my cap and said “Defending the park from Hook while I’m off duty?” I replied “yes, I hope I’m doing a good job!”
That was around the time he noticed the scars on my wrists. He kinda gave me a look in my eyes and said “you okay?” I told him, “well Peter, you’d know better than anyone how tough it is to grow up.” And he looked at me and whispered, “Neither of us are grown up yet. We might have gotten older over the years, but we haven’t forgotten what it’s like.”
Then he told me, “since we’re both from Neverland, and you’re my partner in crime, stand back to back with me, and cross your arms. We’ve got to do the signature pose!”
I know the guy who dresses up as Peter Pan for Disney doesn’t realize this, but all that he did for me in the five minutes I met him made me feel happier than I’ve felt in months. I felt like a child again, and feeling like a child is pretty great sometimes.
I’m not ready to grow up yet.

oh no im crying

If this hits 100,000 notes I’ll do something extravagant.
I’m bad at thinking of things.
If this hits 100,000 I’ll do something cool and reasonable if you send me suggestions.

This is a homeless guy who lives on a bridge in Dublin City. Last week his rabbit was grabbed from him and thrown into the river below.. the River Liffey. Which is one of the most horrible rivers in Ireland. The currents are really strong and it’s filthy.. Anyway, as soon as the rabbit hit the water this guy was already hurdling off the bridge and towards the freezing river to save her. After hitting the water and successfully locating her, he proceeding to pump air back into her, making her regain consciousness and basically come back to life. I was talking to him today along with another woman and she asked “Why in the name of God did you jump into the water? Did you not think about it?!” and straight away he replied with “No. I didn’t stop to think. I just jumped. It was an instinct.. I needed to save her.”

For saving the rabbit, he was given the ‘compassionate citizen award’ by the charity Aran.  The guy who threw the rabbit in the river has been charged with animal cruelty.
The homeless man was also given carrots for his rabbit and dog food for his dog. They also offered him a job.
This is a great man.

This is beautiful!

Be careful what you wish for.

Wow what I never realized the colors were inverted

You’d think I would have noticed that

That’s the point. The world Coraline lives in is supposed to be boring and gray, but the people are what give it life and purpose. In the Other Mother’s world the people are plastic puppets where she pulls the strings because it presumably changes for every child she takes, but the world around them is bright and colorful for the purpose of enticing the children to stay… before they notice the inhabitants are nothing but dust.

that was deep

Paranorman reveals first openly gay animated character

at first i thought mitch and kathy were going to hook up, like athletic boys and bratty teenage girls always do at the end of movies. but then he said this and the whole theatre screamed and EVERYTHING MADE SENSE AND IT WAS SO GREAT

this was such a great scene. his sexuality didn’t define him, he wasn’t used as the butt of a joke, it was just great. she was into him, and he’s just a dumb guy who possibly didn’t really even know she was really hitting on him throughout the film. it just wow. this one line just means a whole fucking lot to people.

What I like about this the best is that they LITERALLY WAITED UNTIL THE VERY LAST SECOND TO REVEAL IT. Basically forcing you to form your opinion of him based on his personality and characteristics, instead of his sexuality.

WHICH IS HOW IT’S SUPPOSED TO WORK.

best ever
